Tactile Feedback whilst rotating the potentiometer spindle

When an operator rotates a control knob it provides a direct hands-on interaction with the equipment. The tactile feedback experienced by the operator can help generate a perception of quality and precision. Equipment manufacturers can use Omeg potentiometers to help enhance the tactile feedback experienced by their customers.

There are two methods Omeg employ to give the desired tactile feedback. The first is to adjust the amount of torque required to rotate the spindle, this can be either low or high.

Second, indents can be installed so users feel clicks whilst rotating the spindle. These can vary from a single central indent at the centre point of rotation, up to 41 indents evenly distributed over the whole rotational arc.

Either one or both of these methods can be incorporated in Omeg potentiometers and switched potentiometers. The tables below indicate the options available.
